News
This project is about helping Christian communities put up PN as easily/cheaply as possible to facilitate discussing/acting on peace issues for these times.
The wrapup installs 0.64 with the three fixes, Cyboards, and a few extra blocks and sections, it replaces News with NPN news, it places PNWhosOnline and PHPinfo as NS-d but in an admin block. It creates some categories on cyboards. It has some PostNuke based themes installed. A second one actually pre-installs ten stories (to help the newbies see what it's like having stories without having to make qsl jsqsldmfd articles, and start them out with some stories if they can't find 10 stories immediately). A third, 'blank' version is also available which only installs the nice goodies and is helpful for newbies who want a nice, easy install of PN but are planning on using their site for other purposes.
There are still many things you can do to help if you like. First off, testing the prerelease would be appreciated; I've already found a few issues that must be addressed in a new release or in docs. Also, looking over my newbie docs for your input would be appreciated. Since this is a site for newbies, I also hope to start a documentation project for PN newbies--with a little help we could fill in all the html pages in the Online Admin manual. You can see tech information for the project under the Category Tech: project page.

First order of business will be to transition the nested tables layout to a full-fledged CSS scheme. Please do check it out and poke around. Any feedback or comments are welcome.
The CVS board is great, but more users should be directed to specific areas on CVS for patches, issue resolution etc.
Example: I am having trouble with Autolinks. I went to look for info about bugs with .64 and found one on CVS... but no resolutions or remarks were posted. No one has even been assigned to it. Then I perused the message boards in hopes of finding someone discussing the issue. Nada. Finally I found the new Yahoo Group Dev board and scanned through recent posts. Nothing. I finally got the idea to re-check CVS and found the patch files. To my knowledge this is the only place they are published. Could the links to these patches also be entered in the Downloads area? If not then the Downloads area should point all users to CVS.
Of course all this work was pointless in the end because I still can't seem to get the Autolink function working. Don't Autolinks actually filter through articles and place links on the keywords? I have seen this on at least one site but am still unsure if this is what I should be looking for. Somewhere there should be simple descriptions of the modules and how they work. I am starting to sound like a Project Manager now.
Now that we are getting more and more submissions from our visitors. This is one module or some other way for reader reviews to get prominent placement on the front page. A lot more people will submit if they know it's there and they'll get their 5 minutes of "fame". As it is now, the reviews system in PN is completely worthless, just because there is no easy way
to post and promote reader reviews.
Also another feature that I miss from MPN is the email notfication. In MPN you can set the system to email the site admin whenever some new event occurs on the site, including new member registrations, article submissions, forum submissions, etc... As it is now, PN doesn't notify the admin about ANYTHING and I find that increasingly annoying.
Also please take a look at my site http://www.eclipsemagazine.com and let me know what you think.
The theme was modified so that it doesn't look as "nuky" as other nuke sites.
I committed my current site to PN now, and I think it's a pretty good system, I just wish you guys would take a look at what the MPN folks are doing and steal some of their ideas and features. Especially their block system.
Please send me any sideblocks, you would like to see included and converted !
All Sideblocks will be PostNuke 0.64 and sentinal theme system compliant !
The package will include language files, images and the sideblocks itself !

This is the type of modification that makes sense to include (perhaps as an admin option? "Include admins in page stats?"). Once I've made my mods, how do I present them to The Project for inclusion?
for the version 1.0, i've fixed some security bug that enabled any visitor to enter the users prefs without login. i also have modified the look of it so it looks more like a block.
multi-language that look for the french way to show dates (il y a X jours) instead of ( X days ago)...
for the future:
i'll see for the David "Cyklone" Thompson way to have the number of users listed in it, with his participation (hopes).
for visitors, see only the listing, for members, click to send a private message to user... when iMessenger installed, send a IM to user...
ok, the stuff:
i'll wait to see if Michael can place the archive on postnuke, but for now, you can download it
here...
it's french and english for now...!!!
